Fits, tolerances & inspection.
Calculate explicit hole/shaft limits, classify clearance/interference behavior, check simple tolerance stacks, and plan uncertainty-aware dimensional inspection without hiding standards-table assumptions.
01Fit limits from explicit deviations
ISO 286 terminology is used for context, but the actual upper/lower deviations remain explicit inputs. Positive and negative deviations are entered in micrometres relative to the nominal size.
02Linear tolerance stack
Enter up to four signed nominal contributors and bilateral ± tolerances. Worst-case adds absolute tolerance contributions. RSS is a statistical planning estimate that assumes independent centered contributors; it is not a guaranteed acceptance limit.
03Inspection planning
Select the hole or shaft tolerance zone above, then enter a measured value and expanded measurement uncertainty U. The conservative interval check asks whether measured value ± U lies wholly inside, wholly outside, or overlaps the specification limits. This is not a replacement for the project’s agreed ISO 14253 decision rule.
